2016 - 2017
Governor's Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. DeLuca is an energetic and enthusiastic member of the Paul Robeson Community School staff. She is a dynamic First Grade teacher. From the very first day of school, she works with her students to establish clear routines and procedures that support students in developing habits of self-regulation that guide them throughout the school year. Mrs. DeLuca uses her training in Writer's Workshop to facilitate her students' creation of wonderful written books that describe topics such as "How To be a Good Friend" or "Spending the Day With My Cousin". The pride in the faces of her students as they share their books with family members and staff members during Authors' Day celebrations is inspiring to see.

In addition, Mrs. DeLuca is an active participant in the school community. From her involvement in working with members of the First Grade team in planning instructional activities, to leading workshops for colleagues on classroom management strategies to her work with the school data team and her support of the Music program as an accompanist during concerts, Mrs. DeLuca is an actively engaged teacher and Paul Robeson Community School is proud to recognize her as our 2015 - 2016 Governor's Teacher of the Year.
